Frenship 3, Odessa Permian 0

WOLFFORTH — Natalie Jones scored twice in about a 10-minute span to help Frenship to a win against Odessa Permian in District 2-6A play.

Shadi Haney added the third goal for the Tigers (13-12-1, 2-0).

Jones opened scoring in the game’s third minute on a corner kick goal. Madyson Hoel fed Jones in the 13th minute for a commanding 2-0 lead.

Haney upped the lead to three goals before halftime.

Frenship will host Midland Lee at 7:30 p.m. Friday while Permian (10-3, 0-2) squares off Friday with Odessa High.

Monterey 3, San Angelo Lake View 0

Aisha McQueen scored a pair of goals and Bry Walker added a third to help Monterey back to .500 in District 4-5A competition.

Jordan Flores recorded a shutout in net.

The Lady Plainsmen (7-7-1) will visit Lubbock High at 5 p.m. Friday. Lake View (3-7) will simultaneously host Abilene Cooper.


Monterey 3, San Angelo Lake View 0

SAN ANGELO — Marc Cabrera scored the winning goal in the first half and added a second in the game’s back stanza to keep the Plainsmen perfect early in the District 4-5A race.

Pedro Lopez scored a second-half goal and Adam Rodriguez picked up a three-save shutout. Zaaron Gonzalez and Jessie Gomez recorded assists.

Monterey (13-4) will host Lubbock High on 5 p.m. Friday. The Chiefs (2-12) travel to Abilene Cooper.

Abilene Cooper 4, Lubbock-Cooper 1

ABILENE — Gavin Doyle put away and assist from Jonny Garcia, but that was the only bright spot for Lubbock-Cooper at Shotwell Stadium.

The Pirates (9-3-2 overall) fell to 21 in District 4-5A competition.

Lubbock-Cooper will be idle this weekend and travel Feb. 20 to Monterey. The Cougars (6-5-1, 2-0) visit Coronado at 5 p.m. Friday.
