Frenship 51, El Paso El Dorado 42

ANDREWS — A big third quarter got Frenship beyond the bi-district round in the Class 6A state playoffs.

The Tigers outscored El Dorado 17-8 in the third stanza. The teams tied in every other quarter.

Cassandra Awatt led Frenship (28-7) in scoring with 14 points. Maci Maddox and Abre Godfrey followed with 11 points.

Frenship will play North Crowley in the area round at a time, date and venue to be determined between the two schools.

Lubbock Titans 49, Lubbock Christian 41

The Titans rallied back from a 14-6 deficit in the first quarter to defeat Lubbock Christian High School in a non-district game,

Carli Bostick led the Titans with 17 points and Megan Simpson scored 13.

Preston Lee scored 14 for the Lady Eagles, but she was the only one in double digits.

Lubbock Christian will take on Arlington Grace Prep on Feb. 20 in a TAPPS Class 2A area round game.

BOYS

Shallowater 77, Friona 27

SHALLOWATER — The Mustangs capped a perfect run through District 3-2A with their 50-point home win against Friona.

Jett Johnston led a well-rounded score sheet with 12 points. Josh Servantez and Collin Stephenson added 10 points apiece.

Shallowater (29-2, 14-0) had already clinched the first seed out of the league, and it now awaits the fourth-place team from District 1-3A. The Chieftans (4-10 in district) were eliminated from postseason consideration before the game.

Estacado 74, Levelland 44

LEVELLAND — Estacado capped a perfect District 2-4A season with its road win at Levelland.

Larry Morrison led the Matadors (22-5, 10-0) with 12 points and Keke Murray hit double digits with 11 to lead nine other players on the winning score sheet.

Jakeevian Ford put up a team-best 11 points for the Lobos (21-10, 5-5).

Both teams previously qualified for the Class 4A state playoffs and await their pairings from District 1-4A.

Coronado 77, Monterey 67

Blair Conwright and Dwain Anderson scored 24 and 22 points, respectively, and Coronado beat Monterey 77-67 Tuesday night, wrapping up an undefeated run through District 4-5A to the delight of the Mustangs’ home crowd.

Caleb Wilborn added 12 points for Coronado (22-10, 10-0), which will be a No. 1 seed and play a bi-district game against the loser of Tuesday’s Randall-Amarillo Caprock game.

De’Quadrick Butler poured in 26 points for Monterey, followed by Camden Grant with 10.
