SECOND TEAM

 

P: Harley Merrill, Sr., Borden County: She recorded a 7.1 K/BB ratio while posting a 2.60 ERA with 71 strikeouts for the Lady Coyotes last season. Merrill also batted at a .452 clip.

C: Caroline Kerr, Jr., Frenship: The District 2-6A first teamer displayed a strong arm and finished last season with a .994 fielding percentage. She batted .362 and batted in 18 RBIs as a sophomore.

1B: Abby Bandy, Sr., Seminole: The senior was named to the District 2-4A first team. She helped the Maidens advance to the Class 4A area round last season.

2B: Mia Rendon, Sr., Levelland: The District 2-4A first teamer batted .556 and recorded a .682 on-base percentage. She finished her junior season with 14 RBIs and scored 32 runs.

3B: Mica Contreras, Soph., Levelland: As a freshman, she batted .412 and had an on-base percentage of .682. The District 2-4A first team selection notched 23 RBIs and 28 runs.

SS: Hampton Hays, Jr., LCHS: As a sophomore, she hit .560 with a .692 on-base percentage. Hayes also recorded 55 runs and 31 RBIs for the Lady Eagles.

OF: Ashley Lopez, Jr., Levelland: The District 2-4A first team selection, who hit at a .450 clip, finished her sophomore campaign with nine home runs and 45 RBIs. She also scored 38 runs.

OF: Franki Torres, Sr., Ralls: Torres helped the Lady Jackrabbits reach the Class 2A regional semifinals. She was named to the District 2-2A first team for her efforts.

OF: Rayme Jones, Jr., Borden County: The District 3-2A first team selection batted .488 and tallied 24 runs and 24 RBIs. Jones maintained a .596 on-base percentage.

DP: Kamryn Gibbs, Soph., Slaton: The District 2-3A Newcomer of the Year batted .613 and stole 42 out of 42 bases a season ago. She drove in 31 RBIs and scored 52 runs for the Tigerettes.

P: Alyssa Castro, Sr., Roosevelt: She struck out 90 batters and finished her junior campaign with a 16-5 record overall. The District 2-3A first team selection batted .485 and scored 38 runs.

P: Audrey Moreno, Soph., Post: The District 3-2A Pitcher MVP struck out 127 batters and finished her freshman season with a 14-5 record. She posted a 4.56 ERA.

P: Hannah Morales, Jr., Floydada: She struck out 113 batters a season ago. Morales, who was named to the District 2-2A first team, hit at a .512 clip with a .593 on-base percentage.
