HS GIRLS HOOPS ROUNDUP: Romero, Cooper win close game against Randall

Lubbock-Cooper 71, Randall 70

 

CANYON — Eavahna Romero dropped a game-high 20 points as Lubbock-Cooper defeated Randall 71-70 on Tuesday.

Jacey Hise totaled 19 points for the Lady Pirates. McKauley Gregory had 14 points.

Cooper (14-1) hosts Frenship at 6 p.m. next Tuesday.

Lubbock Christian (HS) 69, Smyer 42

Preston Lee scored a game-high 22 points as Lubbock Christian High defeated Smyer 69-42 in a non-district game.

Ally McCasland totaled 10 points for the Lady Eagles. Maddy Crockett had nine points.

Lubbock Christian is slated to play in the Princeton Tournament from Thursday through Saturday.

Smyer hosts Ropes at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday.

Shallowater 72, Andrews 28

SHALLOWATER — Cailyn Breckel led the way with 14 points as Shallowater defeated Andrews 72-28 in a non-district game.

Stormie Williams recorded 12 points for the Fillies. Kate McCrady had 11 points.

Shallowater is scheduled to play in the Andrews Tournament from Thursday through Saturday.

Midland High 62, Lubbock High 49

MIDLAND — Clarrissa Francis scored a game-high 18 points as Lubbock High fell to Midland High 62-49 in a non-district game.

Kearia Garcia totaled 11 points for the Lady Westerners. Jaiden Eaton and Maddie Wootan scored six points each.

Lubbock High is slated to play at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday at Clovis (N.M.).

Plainview 55, Trinity Christian 45

Lauren Catherman recorded 22 points as Trinity Christian fell to Plainview 55-45 in a non-district game.

Claire Beck and Jasmine Wadsworth both scored six points for the Lady Lions. Abigail Boehning and Abby Miller both had four points.

Kristan Rincon dropped 15 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Jaclynn Black had 12 points.

Trinity Christian is scheduled to play in the Aledo Tournament from Thursday through Saturday, starting with Lancaster at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Plainview begins District 3-5A play next Tuesday and host Palo Duro at 6 p.m.
