HS SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Robertson drives in two runs as Lubbock-Cooper defeats Odessa High

WOODROW — Reagan Robertson went 3 for 4 with two RBIs as Lubbock-Cooper defeated Odessa High in five innings in a non-district game.


With the win, the Lady Pirates improved to 10-3 on the season.

Lubbock-Cooper took a 10-0 lead after two complete as pitcher Autumn White, who tallied the complete-game win, preserved the win. White struck out two and scattered six hits in an 81-pitch performance.

Theron Zachary, Callie Box, Marli Goolsby, Posey Pence, Thiery Zachary and White all drove in one run in the win.

Lubbock-Cooper is scheduled to host Lubbock High in a District 4-5A contest.

Denver City 13, Estacado 0

DENVER CITY — Jewel Santillan, Haleigh Gonzales and Becca McCleskey combined to strike out six batters and guide Denver City to a five-inning victory in a District 2-4A game Friday night.

With the win, the Fillies improved to 13-4 overall and 1-0 in district play this season. The Lady Matadors dropped to 1-11 and 0-1.

Santillan finished with four strikeouts in three innings of work.

On offense, Heidi Gonzales ended the night foing 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Kathleen Chavez went 2 for 3 with two RBIs.

Marisol Rivera was one of four Estacado batters to earn a hit against the Fillies pitching.

Estacado scheduled to host Lamesa at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Matador Field.

Denver City is set to host Seminole at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Sofia Garcia, Gabby Barker help Tech women finish 22nd at NCAA Championships

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. — Freshman Sofia Garcia and junior Gabby Barker shot Texas Tech’s two best rounds of the tournament on Monday, though the Lady Raiders didn’t move up any and finished 22nd at the NCAA Championships in women’s golf.
