Denver City ISD places employee on leave after allegations of improper relationship

After discovering information that an employee may have engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a student, Denver City Independent School District has placed the employee on administrative leave and started an investigation, according to a statement from the district superintendent on Wednesday.

Gary Davis, Denver City ISD superintendent, said the alleged misconduct has also been reported to law enforcement and to the Texas Education Agency.

The district did not identify the employee or elaborate on the nature of the alleged behavior pending an ongoing investigation.

Davis said the district will cooperate with state and local authorities, and will coordinate its own investigation with them.

The district takes every allegation of employee misconduct seriously, according to Davis’s news release
