Chamber hires customer service representative
Taylor Frick has joined the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce as a customer service representative.
Frick is a native of Lewisville. She served four years in the U.S. Army, part of which she was deployed in Africa.
Frick will handle day-to-day office duties and assist in other departments in the chamber.
Charter member of photo organizers group recognized
Dionne Merriott of Captured Memories Photo Solutions was honored by the Association of Personal Photo Organizers as a charter member of the organization.
Merriott began working with people and their photos in 1995 and joined the association shortly after it was formed in 2011. Charter Members have built the foundation for a growing industry. More information about photo organization can be found at www.capturedmemories.biz.

Hilton Garden Inn announces new general manager
Pearl Hospitality’s Hilton Garden Inn announced the hiring of Walter E. Riggs as the hotel’s new general manager.
Riggs held several management positions at Pearl Hospitality’s Embassy Suites from 2006 to 2012. During his tenure with Embassy, he increased restaurant sales by 58 percent year-over-year and increased guest service satisfaction to the top tier of Embassy Suites Hotels.
“It’s great to have Walter as part of the team again,” Pearl Hospitality Regional Vice President of Sales Sheila Kuennen said. “We are excited for the opportunities he will create at our Hilton Garden Inn property.”
Local therapist graduates from leadership academy
Kelly Martin, a licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist in Lubbock, graduated from the Leadership Academy sponsored by the Association for Play Therapy in early October, according to a news release from the association.
APT is a national professional society that provides research, training and credentialing programs for play therapists. The Leadership Academy is one of the training courses APT offers.
The course was designed to extend the knowledge and leadership skills of those registered to provide play therapy.
