Hocutt made right choice on Kingsbury
Kirby Hocutt made the right decision concerning Coach Kliff Kingsbury because Coach Kingsbury held a team together while all the talking heads, sports writers and broadcasters were proclaiming that he would/should be fired at the end of the season, if not immediately.
Common sense says that all of the bad-mouthing could/should/would have affected the current players, along with future prospects trying to decide if Texas Tech is a school worthy of consideration. In spite of a daily barrage of insults and proclamations of his ineptness, Coach Kingsbury conducted himself with dignity. While admitting mistakes, he never publicly derided his players. His players did not give up and continued to practice hard.
Half of the teams that play on Saturday lose. Tech did not win every game they played and lost some that perhaps they should have won. The ball does not always bounce your way.
My question to fans is “What kind of man/woman do you want coaching your children?” Good things happen to good people and I believe that win or lose Texas Tech has a good man/coach in Kliff Kingsbury.
Thank you Kirby Hocutt for seeing beyond the win-loss column and retaining Kliff Kingsbury who has only the best of desires for Texas Tech.
