Bridges files to run for at-large position on Lubbock ISD board

Lubbock businesswoman Beth Bridges on Tuesday announced she filed as a candidate for the open, at-large position on the Lubbock Independent School District Board of Trustees in the May municipal election.

Bridges, the senior property manager at South Plains Mall, is an active member of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and recently completed a term as chair of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, according to a news release from Bridges.

She and her husband, Jimmy Bridges, are the parents of one son, a student at Hutchinson Middle School.

She has served in a variety of leadership roles in the community, including on the PTA board at the middle school and as president of the Junior League of Lubbock. She also served on the LISD 2020 committee.

“In my professional life as a businesswoman, through my volunteer work at the Chamber and as a parent, I see the end game of public education. We have an obligation to provide the children of our community with the educational foundation and skills to build a promising future right here in Lubbock,” Bridges said. “Providing the broadest, most enriching experience for every student will be among my goals as a school board member.”
