The City Bank Commons and Conference Center will be located inside the new Christa Dobbs Center for Business at Lubbock Christian University, LCU announced this week.
City Bank has invested $400,000 in LCU’s new business facility, which follows the university’s recent launch of a $15 million initiative to build support for the growing School of Business. The Christa Dobbs Center for Business will open in fall of 2018, and will consist of almost 22,000 square feet of space near the heart of the LCU campus.
City Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Cory T. Newsom said LCU is a highly regarded institution. City Bank has partnered with LCU before, including in LCU athletics, according to a news release from LCU.
“We’re proud to have LCU grads be a part of the City Bank family. Our hopes are to see the tradition of excellence and quality of education continue. It’s an important part of our community and the region,” Newsom said.
Tracy Mack, dean of the LCU School of Business, said he is excited by the investment City Bank is making in the lives of business students.
“I believe this investment is a testament to the top quality and highly prepared LCU graduates that work at City Bank and other organizations all across the region,” Mack said.
LCU President Tim Perrin said City Bank’s investment will make a difference at LCU and across the region. The new commons and conference center will make a strong statement about the bank’s commitment to investing in and strengthening the community, he said.
