Lubbock police investigating suspicious death in West Lubbock

Lubbock police were investigating a suspicious death Saturday afternoon in West Lubbock.

Around 1:45 p.m., officials responded to reports of a dead body at Commander’s Palace Mobile Home Park at 6801 19th St., according to LPD spokeswoman Kasie Whitley.

“Upon arrival, investigators found the circumstances surrounding the deceased person’s death to be suspicious,” she said.

Although police were not releasing more details about the nature of the death, Whitley said homicide investigators were called to the scene. The incident was still under investigation by Saturday evening.

CPS takes custody of two younger siblings of 12-year-old slain in shooting

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services on Monday was granted temporary custody of the two younger siblings of a 12-year-old boy who was killed Thursday in what police officials believe is an accidental shooting at an East Lubbock McDonald’s drive-thru.
